Library Policies

Library Hours

The library is open Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8:45am-3:30pm.

Check Out Policy

1st Graders may check out 1 book every week. Books are due in 1 week.

2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Graders will start the school year checking out 1 book every week. Once students are back into the routine, they will be allowed to check out 2 books every week. Books are due in 1 week.

Students may renew (checked out again) books, if they need more time to finish them, as many times as they would like. They must let Mrs. Ciampa know they would like to renew their books. 

Students must return Library book(s) in order to check out new Library books. If students forget to return Library Books, then they will be a Looker that day. A Looker may look at books during check out time but they may not check out any books.

Overdue Books 

Overdue books may be returned at any time.

Damaged Books

If a book is damaged, no matter the reason, please send it in to Mrs. Ciampa right away. Accidents happen and sometimes books are just in bad shape to begin with. Mrs. Ciampa may be able to fix the damage. If she cannot, and a student damaged the book, she will let the student's Parent/Grown-Up know and make arrangements to replace the book. Lost Books

If a Wilson School Library Book is lost, please let Mrs. Ciampa know as soon as possible. You may tell her on your Library Day or your Parent/Grown-Ups may contact Mrs. Ciampa at jeciampa@westfieldnjk12.org to let her know. If your book was lost at school, Mrs. Ciampa and your teacher will try to help you find it. If we cannot find it at school, or you lost your book at home or on vacation, Mrs. Ciampa will mark the book as LOST and let your Parent/Grown-Up know. If the book is still LOST at the end of the school year, Mrs. Ciampa will contact your Parent/Grown-Up to make arrangements to replace the book. See "Parent/Grown-Up Info" tab for more details.
