Students recently completed their first project, composing a 32 bar tune. This project taught them some basic music theory concepts, in addition to learning how to operate a DAW (digital audio workstation).
Congratulations to the students whose projects were selected as one of "Doyle's Dope Jams!" These students not only completed the requirements of the assignment and displayed excellent work ethic in the process, but created very interesting, complex, and catchy tunes!
Next up, students will be learning about common forms used in popular music. Form refers to the how the sections of a song are structured, usually dictated by the chord progressions that are used.
