Dear Parents and Students,
I'd like to welcome you and your child to first grade. My name is Mrs. Emily Goldstein and I'm looking forward to a great school year. I am prepared to take your child through a journey. Like any good journey, we will see some things that are familiar, and of course some things that are foreign to us. Some trails will be easy and others will be difficult. We will stretch ourselves so that we can reach higher than we thought possible, and in the end, look back and say "Wow, we went really far!" This year it is important to remember, we are in this together! :)
We will all be going on our journey together, so we must remember to work together, do our part to help the team, and root each other on so we can all look back and enjoy the view.
Here's what you will need to start your journey:
Your Gear (supply list)
Your Map (A great attitude, willingness to learn, and organizational skills)
Your Compass (Your Brain...don't leave home without it)
Your Rations (Water bottle and a snack)
Comfy Sneaks (Hugs, kisses, and support from home)

Please encourage your child to work hard, and be responsible. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you feel there is a concern about your child or a problem arises. I also encourage you to attend Back-To-School Night in September.
I care very much about your child's education and will strive each day to provide them with a safe and fun learning environment.
