Health Education

My health class objective is to help empower my students with the ability and knowledge they can use to improve their overall mental/emotional, social, and physical health.

The lessons that we will focus on are the following:

Unit 1

• Social and Emotional Learning Model

• Health triangle (Physical, Mental/Emotional, Social)

• Risk Behaviors- (Precautions and Preventions)

• Family Unit

• Different forms of Abuse

Unit 2

• Adolescence

• Puberty lesson

Unit 3

• Digestive System

• Nutrition

• Body Image/ Eating Disorders

Unit 4

Drug awareness unit

Class assessment

• Class is based on a total point accumulation during the quarter.

• Tests: 1 to 2 test will be given via google form. I’ll send a study guide each test.

• Projects: All projects will be based out of a total point value. The due date is determined by the students.

• All assignments will be given out through Google Classroom.

• Anti-Drug power point presentation

• Anti-Bullying PSA

• Family tree project

• There will be two/three assessments depending on the material we are able to cover.
