Youth and Government

The 2024 Youth and Government Conference will take place Friday through Sunday, April 12-14, at the Hilton East Brunswick, 3 Tower Center Blvd., East Brunswick, NJ. You must be at the East Broad St. YMCA by 9:00 AM on Friday, April 12.

Youth and Government (YAG), the spring counterpart of the WHS Model U.N. program,  is a YMCA-sponsored mock legislative program in which students perform various roles related to state government. Students are assigned or selected for positions such as state legislators, judiciary members, lobbyists, assembly/senate speakers and clerks, and members of the Governor’s Cabinet. There is also a Youth Governor, who is elected the preceding year at the YAG conference.  More than 400 students from nearly two dozen New Jersey high schools participate annually in the conference.
