This course is intended as an introduction to newspaper journalism and writing for the Hi’s Eye. Its purposes are:
To develop the skills necessary to write in a variety of journalistic styles;
To acquire a vocabulary and perspective for analyzing news sources, including print, broadcast, and online sources;
To begin the process of becoming a staff member of the Hi’s Eye;
To become familiar with the history and development of journalism and the legal parameters and ethical responsibilities of journalists.
