Course Content:
Pre-Algebra 7
The Pre-Algebra 7 curriculum links to and builds on students’ previous work with rates and ratios, rational numbers, fundamental algebraic and geometric concepts, and statistical thinking. This course differs from Math 7 in that it includes 8th grade content; therefore, a faster pace for instruction and learning is required. Areas of focus for this course are applying proportional relationships, working with exponents and linear equations, solving problems involving similarity and congruence, and statistical inference. In order to develop the foundation needed for the formal study of Algebra I in 8th grade, students are challenged to think and reason about mathematics, work collaboratively, and solve meaningful problems.
