As physical educators, we believe fitness is a lifelong activity. We understand that all students develop physically at different times and their abilities vary greatly. However, we do ask that every student tries their best in class, participates at a level that is comfortable to them and has fun!!
MARKING PERIOD 1 UNITS:
*Fitness Self- Assessment Tests (Pull-ups, Flexed Arm Hang, Peg Board Climb, Sit-ups, Shuttle Run, Standing Long Jump, Push-ups, the 50,100, 600 yard runs, mile and/or PACER)
*Soccer
*Badminton
*Flag Football
*Handball
MARKING PERIOD 2 UNITS:
*Anaerobic and aerobic fitness circuits (lightweight dumbbells, resistance dynabands, hurdle runs, sit-ups, push-ups, pull-ups, mountain climbers)
*Jump Rope
*Tumbling, floor exercises,
* Volleyball
*Dance
MARKING PERIOD 3 UNITS:
*Floor hockey
*Indoor Tennis/Pickleball
*Basketball
*Fitness
MARKING PERIOD 4 UNITS:
* Softball
* Rec Games
*Archery
*Ultimate Frisbee
*Self Assessment Fitness Tests
What do I need for PE?
-SNEAKERS!!
-Although we do not change for PE, we ask that the students wear attire that they feel comfortable moving and being active in.
PROPER PE CLOTHES INCLUDE: Sneakers (no slip on's or backless shoes. Sneakers should provide ankle/foot support) & clothes that you are able to move actively in
-Deodorant
Other PE Rules
Immediately report all injuries to the PE teacher on duty.
Your actions can negatively affect you and the ones around you. Please think before you act--safety first!
Parents may excuse their child from PE with a note for up to 3 days.
Treat all classmates, teachers, and equipment with respect
