Reading is the easiest way to keep your student progressing over the summer! But sometimes....going to the library can be daunting!
Here are some summer resources:
Reading List from ALSC. This covers grades 3 - 5
EPIC is a favorite - and great if you just have your phone or an Ipad and need to entertain yourself or your student!
Get into a series to kick off summer! Some of our favorites in the Helix are:
Boxcar kids (Level O)
Key Hunters (Level P)
Illustrated Classics (Levels S and Up)
Wings of Fire (Levels S and Up)
Student's are OBSESSED Prodigy, which is a game-based Math skills website. Students will have live logins all summer, and should be encouraged to play as much as they can!
Also, don't be afraid to get a standard deck of cards and just play games? Have you learned Solitaire? Crazy 8s? Go Fish? Kings in the Corner?
Playing with your family? Scrabble is an amazing word work game!
