Dear First Grade Friends,

I am very excited to be your first-grade teacher.  This is my ninth year teaching at Wilson School and my twenty-eighth year working as an educator.  I began my teaching career in Montgomery County, Maryland teaching fifth grade at Fairland Elementary School and Burning Tree Elementary School.  I then moved up to New York City and taught fourth grade at PS 183 on the Upper East Side.  After becoming a mom, I launched my own tutoring and curriculum writing company.  Now I am lucky to be your first-grade teacher!

In addition to my love for teaching and learning, I love being a mom.  I have two daughters; Danielle is an eleventh grader at Westfield High School and Sophia is an eighth grader at Edison Intermediate School.  We love to spend time together.  Our favorite family members are Leo, our seven year-old Shih Tzu and Gordon, our two year-old Golden Retriever.  

During the summer you can find me playing tennis, fishing, gardening, biking, laughing with friends and family, savoring my coffee, and traveling as often as possible.  No matter where I may be, you will always find me with a book.  I love to read!  I hope I can share my love of literacy with you this year. 

During the summer I love to travel abroad and visit national parks.  Each journey inspires me when I set up our classroom.
