Dear First Grade Friends,
I am very excited to be your first-grade teacher. This is my eighth year teaching at Wilson School and my twenty-seventh year working as an educator. I began my teaching career in Montgomery County, Maryland teaching fifth grade at Fairland Elementary School and Burning Tree Elementary School. I then moved up to New York City and taught fourth grade at PS 183 on the Upper East Side. After becoming a mom, I launched my own tutoring and curriculum writing company. Now I am lucky to be back in the classroom as your first-grade teacher!
In addition to my love for teaching and learning, I love being a mom. I have two daughters; Danielle is a tenth grader at Westfield High School and Sophia is a seventh grader at Edison Intermediate School. We love to spend time together. Our favorite family members are Leo, our six year-old Shih Tzu and Gordon, our one year-old Golden Retriever.
During the summer you can find me playing tennis, fishing, gardening, biking, laughing with friends and family, savoring my coffee, and traveling as often as possible. No matter where I may be, you will always find me with a book. I love to read! I hope I can share my love of literacy with you this year.
During the summer I love to travel and visit national parks. The natural beauty of these parks serve as inspiration for me when I set up our room each year.
I cannot wait to learn all about you, your summer, and your family.
Love,
Ms. Schreier
Leo, the "resident" dog used to get all of the attention in our house. He is adjusting to having a little brother who is bigger than him. He is obsessed with rabbits, squirrels, and treats.
Gordon is delicious and sweet, but also very sneaky. He is a sock thief and has the worst case of FOMO ever!
Ice cream and pup cups are a new family tradition for us.
