At the end of each day I review with the kids the homework for the evening and allow them time to write it in their planners. I go over the directions and my expectations. The kids then have the opportunity to ask me any questions that they may have. If something needs to be picked up, I offer them time throughout the day to pick it up and place it in their folder. Homework is your child's responsibility, both to pick it up, complete it and bring it back to school. Feel free to assist them but the responsibility is ultimately theirs. If your child forgets their homework they are given one additional day to complete it. If it is still not completed they will finish it during recess time.
Any work that is not completed during the school day will also be sent home to be finished. This includes any work that is rushed, incomplete, messy or not up to 5th grade quality.
