Hi artists!
We can create art with nature. The New York Botanical Garden website has awesome projects to to create using nature. I am including some ideas here but feel free to check out their site to find some more.
Have fun creating with nature!
Hi artists!
We can create some stained "glass" sun catchers using crayon shavings. Crayon shavings are made when you sharpen a crayon. I used a sharpener that comes with my crayons but you could use a little pencil sharpener or mom or dad could find another way of getting those shavings (an old cheese crater, perhaps). Check out this video to help you get started. I used a hairdryer and the sun but parents could use and iron too.
For this art, you'll need:
crayons (no paper)
pencil sharpener
wax paper
scissors
hair dryer (or iron) or a sunny, warm spot in or outside your house
Have fun creating some colorful creations to hang in the window. Don't forget to send me a picture of what you created!

Hi Artists!
Here's another art idea. If you could be a color, what would it be? Read the story "If I Could Be Purple." And then, think about what color of the rainbow you would be if you could be any color. Can you tell your family why you chose that color? Can you draw a picture using that color?
If I could be any color, I would be orange. Orange reminds me of warm fireplaces and summer sunsets.
