Welcome to Westfield's Summer Art Exhibition. If you didn't get chance to get into school in person to see the exhibition you can view a snapshot of the exhibition over these pages.
Once again pupils have worked really hard and produced some great work through the year. They should all feel really proud about their achievements and the wonderful art they have produced.
If you've enjoyed looking at the work please leave a comment in the visitors book at the bottom of this page to let us know what you think.
Happy Viewing!
We kicked off the school year by taking part in the Big Draw Festival. The Big Draw is a national festival which promotes drawing in its broadest sense within schools and arts organisations.
The theme this year was 'Drawn Together' with the aim of encouraging pupils to express themselves while recognising the value of working together. Pupils from across the school decorated cubes with images all about them to create a fantastic large scale art work. This really reflects how individual contributions can come together to create a stonger whole.
It was great to invite local artist Darrell Wakelam back into school. Pupils from across KS4 and the Sixth Form had the opportunity to work with Darrell. Westfield turned 50 years old this year and so pupils were set the challenge of building a giant birthday cake in just one day! They rose to the challenge and worked together to make a brilliant cake!
A big well done to Callum in Radipole class. He won 3rd place in the Poundbury and Casterbridge Rotary Club’s Young Artist Competition. Callum made a brilliant mixed media piece based on the theme of nature. He now has an Amazon voucher to spend and some lovely Art materials to enjoy!
