Virtual Scholarship Night 2024-2025 (Powerpoint)
Most scholarship money is generated by the college/university you choose to attend through merit-based (good grades/high test scores) and need-based scholarships!
Please pay close attention to application deadlines and procedures. Some application deadlines are as early as November and Priority Scholarships are tied to those dates.
Strive for the best grades possible and strong test scores. This begins your freshman year.
College websites also have additional scholarships that students will need to apply for. Please be sure to research each colleges' scholarship opportunities.
Please reach out to unions, church groups, cultural groups, utilities companies, fraternities/sororities. If you are a member of any group, you may find that scholarships are offered for the members' children.
SchooLinks has a great Scholarship Matching feature.
Westerville Community Members give scholarship money to WCS Seniors each year. Between the three high schools, over $200,000 is available. The Community Scholarship Application opens December 11th. Mid-November, students/parents will receive useful information to help them prepare documents needed for the application.

We encourage all students/parents to complete the FAFSA as most merit-based and all need-based scholarships will require this to be completed.
ALL COLLEGE-BOUND SENIORS should plan to apply for the Community Scholarships. Scholarships are not just based on GPA. Scholarships also focus on memorials-losing a loved one, community service, sports/activities, careers (engineering, education, etc), elementary and middle schools attended within Westerville, etc.
Scholarship amounts range anywhere from $500 to $10,000
