Mr. Halterman

Mr. Halterman has lived in Westerville, Ohio, almost his entire life.

He is the son of a 4th grade teacher (Mrs. Halterman - Robert Frost Elementary) and attended all of his primary and secondary schooling in the Westerville City School District

After attending Whittier and Cherrington Elementary schools and Blendon Middle School, Mr. Halterman played golf and volleyball for Westerville South High School. He married his high school sweetheart, and they now live in North's district with their three daughters, a dog and a turtle.

After attending Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, Mr. Halterman moved back to Westerville with the hopes of teaching in the district in which he grew up. After substitute teaching in the district for a year, he started his professional educational career in 2001 at Genoa Middle School, teaching 8th grade American History and coaching softball. In 2003, Mr. Halterman transferred to Westerville North High School where he taught both American History and US Government, served as the History Department Facilitator, served as the building Site Council Facilitator, and coached the varsity girls golf team. In 2015, Mr. Halterman accepted a position with Westerville City Schools as an Educational Technology Integration Coach, where he currently works.

Mr. Halterman regularly attends the Westerville Community UCC church as well as the Church in the Wild, and spends his summers working at Royal American Links Golf Course, traveling with his family and sometimes even training for half marathons (of which he has completed 3 to date). Mr. Halterman enjoys camping, playing guitar, running, scrolling through twitter, debating politics, watching his daughters perform Irish Dance, and spending time with friends and family.
