About the Alliances & Fundraising Committee

The WPA Alliances & Fundraising Committee strengthens the Western Pallet Association by building strategic partnerships and expanding non-dues revenue opportunities that support long-term member value.

The committee focuses on identifying mutually beneficial relationships with trade associations, academic institutions, workforce partners, sponsors, funders, and industry stakeholders. Its work is designed to increase WPA’s influence, credibility, financial sustainability, and year-round value to members.

What We Do

The Alliances & Fundraising Committee works at the intersection of partnership development, revenue growth, education, workforce development, and industry engagement.

1. Build High-Value Strategic Partnerships

The committee develops focused, credible alliances that elevate WPA’s visibility and connect the association with valuable industry knowledge, expertise, and opportunities.

This includes:

• Identifying potential partners across trade associations, academia, logistics, sustainability, workforce development, and related sectors.

• Creating partnership criteria, engagement models, and reciprocity guidelines.

• Supporting joint content, co-branded initiatives, and partner involvement in WPA programming.

• Expanding WPA’s reach through relationships that produce measurable value.

2. Grow Non-Dues Revenue

The committee helps build fundraising into a structured and reliable revenue engine for WPA programs.

This includes exploring and developing:

• Corporate sponsorships

• Grants

• Affiliate programs

• Sponsored webinars

• Educational products

• Corporate partnerships

• Year-round visibility opportunities for sponsors

The goal is not simply to raise money. The goal is to create sustainable funding channels that support WPA’s mission, reduce overreliance on dues, and expand the association’s ability to serve members.

3. Support Industry Growth, Education, and Member Value

The committee works to connect alliances and funding opportunities directly to programs that benefit members and the broader wood packaging industry.

Priority areas include:

• Supporting Pallet University through partnerships, sponsorships, and grant-funded content development.

• Building academic and workforce pipelines through colleges, universities, scholarships, student tracks, and internships.

• Creating fundable initiatives such as training videos, speakers, research, Member Leadership Groups, and educational programming.

• Coordinating with other WPA committees to ensure partnerships and funding opportunities support association-wide priorities.
