How do we collect weather data?
What weather data is necessary to make a weather forecast?

Meteorologists use daily weather data to predict the motion and interactions of air masses in a certain area. The data, along with local wind patterns and the area's unique geography, allow meteorologists to make predictions about future weather.
In this studio, you will:
Collect data
Look at local weather patterns
Predict how weather changes
Create a lab report
You will choose the best variables from your weather data and test that prediction. In the end, you'll see how challenging it is to create an accurate forecast and better understand why the weatherperson is wrong all the time.
We will dive into the data analysis later, but its important to begin collecting weather data right away.
Your data source has to be consistent, so you can either use the Eagle Academy weather station located in room 219, or you may use an online weather web page: NOAA.gov, weatherunderground.com, your iPhone weather application (its important that you are always using the same location or weather station to collect all of your data, in other words do not mix weather data sources).
