In this studio you will take photographs that investigate the elements (line, shape, texture, value, space, color) and principles (balance, contrast, emphasis, movement, pattern, rhythm, unity) of design, study the work and influence of a notable historical photographer, complete assigned shoots based on specific themes, and then develop a self‑directed photo essay using a theme you choose; plan your themes carefully and remember that all photos must be taken off campus so you learn to observe and respond to real environments.
