Earth Sciences
Why is it important to understand Earth as a system? How are the spheres connected?
The performance task will allow you to plan and conduct an investigation about a process in one of the spheres of Earth.
Student will:
1. Submit a technical write using the steps of the scientific method
2. Create a multimedia or tri fold presentation of the investigation
3. Present an oral overview in front of an audience.
Background: History of Earth
Checkpoint: Briefly explain in your own words how did the Earth come into existence?
Engage: E1
Use the graphic organizer to take notes about the Earth's spheres from the video.
Once you have watched the background video on Earth and reviewed the different systems of Earth choose 2 topics you would like to study first.
Click on each button below or at the top of the page to learn about each sphere of Earth.
SKILL PRACTICE
Skills will be covered in class with direct instruction. Topic choices will be completed independently or in small groups during class time.
