*Make a color collage. First choose a color. Then, find as many things as you can that are shades of that color and glue them to a piece of paper.
*Make 3-dimentional art. Use recyclables, collage materials, household items (cotton balls, q-tips, toothpicks etc), leaves, rocks, pinecones and anything else you can find to build and create something unique.
*Go on a nature walk. Collect items you find and talk about their color, shape and size. Try sorting them into groups based on a common characteristic.
*Count all of the doors in your house. Repeat how many there are in all. Then count the windows, chairs and lights. Practice saying the total number of items counted each time.
*Choose a story book. Try and "read" the story using the pictures as clues. Use as many words as you can to describe what is happening on the pages.
*Set the table for a meal. Make sure each place setting has one cup, one plate, one napkin and one set of silverware.
*Practice tracing. Using small items from around the house, trace around the items onto a piece of paper. Have your parents write what you traced next to each object. Try tracing your hand too!
*Practice different ways of moving. Try running backwards, crawling, bear walking, hopping, crab walking, galloping, skipping, spinning and knee walking to get to different rooms of your house.
*Learn how to cook. Practice measuring and mixing! Send us a picture of what you made!
*With parent supervision, use scissors and paper to practice snipping and cutting. Try cutting different kinds of lines and shapes.
*Spread shaving cream on the wall of the shower or side of the bathtub and practice drawing shapes, writing letters and writing numbers. Can you write your name?
