Mrs. Olivas graduated from Grand Canyon University in 2018 with her bachelor's degree in elementary education and an emphasis in English as a second language. This will be her 3rd year teaching at Palo Verde and although things are a bit different, she is still excited for this new year. She enjoys working out, hiking with her husband, and traveling to new places. She loves to play soccer and was Palo Verde's girl's soccer coach last year. She loves coffee, especially caramel lattes, and really enjoys pizza and ice cream. Some of Mrs. Olivas favorite things are Disney, giraffes, the color blue, and sunflowers. Mrs. Olivas feels that her job is not just a job but rather a passion. She is dedicated to seeing every student reach their goals and discover who they are while in her class. She strives to communicate each student's unique value and potential by teaching them writing in their own unique learning style. One thing she wants every person to know is that her classroom, whether on a computer or in person, is a safe place to be. That means making a mistake and asking questions is accepted and celebrated because that is how learning takes place.
