Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) is an evidence-based system or framework that supports the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of ALL students. For more information please review the Mountain View PBIS Handbook here.
Our PBIS matrix focuses on the areas of respect, integrity, safety, and effort in all areas of learning and behavior on our campus. This is why we say HAWKS RISE here at Mountain View.
R- Respect
I- Integrity
S- Safety
E- Effort
If students do not follow “RISE” expectations, the process in place to intervene behaviorally is as follows:
Conversation in which the student is retaught and reminded of expectations
2. If student needs another reminder, student takes time to complete a written reflection on Google Classroom.
3. If a third incident of the same nature occurs, the student will stay afterschool for a teacher-assigned intervention and reflection time. (In-person learning only)
4. If a fourth incident occurs of the same nature, student will be referred to the office for additional intervention and correction of behavior time.
This process is universal to Mountain View. If you have further questions, please reach out to your student’s teacher. If any such interventions need to be had, your student’s teacher will be in contact.
