Meet Ms. Bringgold (Ms. B)

Let me begin by saying, I love kids and I love what I do.

I moved here from Minnesota in the early 1970's with my family. I attended Central High School, Phoenix College and Arizona State University. For years, I worked in a law office as a paralegal and office manager. Eventually, one of the attorneys I worked for started a software company and I worked there until 2000. I knew the office wasn't the place for me and decided I wanted to try something new.

I began my teaching career in 2001 after a teacher friend convinced me to become a long-term substitute for a teacher on her team. After the first week, I was hooked and knew I never wanted to do anything else. The following year I re-enrolled at ASU in the Professional Development Program in another school district to get my "formal" teacher training and graduated with the Post-Bac teaching certificate in 2005.

I have taught both 7th and 8th grade Reading and Language Arts in the Washington Elementary School District. This is my fifth year at Desert Foothills Junior High. I look forward to being in the classroom, whether it is virtual or brick and mortar, and working with my students again. Please visit the 2020-2021 Google Classroom Home Base page for links to interesting sites and class specific information and access codes.

If you ever have questions or concerns, please email me, jane.bringgold@wesdschools.org, I will get back to you within 24 hours -- usually I return emails within a few hours.
