Co- Head Coach Bob Bullis (Distance)

Coach Bullis began his track career at Kennewick High School.  After high school, he served four years in the United States Marine Corps.  Following his military service, Coach Bullis graduated from Central Washington University in 1972.  Coach Bullis ran Track at Kennewick, Skagit Valley Community College and Central Washington University.  He then worked for a Construction Equipment company for 16 years and after that owned his own company, North Central Washington Rentals until 1998.  Coach Bullis began his coaching career at WHS in 1998 coaching both Track and Cross Country. During that time, he also was a substitute teacher in the Wenatchee School District.  Coach Bullis has been married to his wife Trudy for over 50 years and has two sons, Geoff and Robby and a grandson named James.  Also, he has been a member of the Rotary Club since 1973.

Co-Head Coach Steve Roche (Hurdles)

Coach Roche began his Track career at Cascade High School (Leavenworth) where he competed in a variety of sprinting and jumping events.  He left Cascade as the school record holder in the 110 Hurdles and 4x100 Relay.  After high school, he competed in the Decathlon and 400m Hurdles at Spokane Falls Community College and Central Washington University.  Highlights of his college career included placing at his conference meets 3 out of 4 years and lettering both of his years at CWU. (Coach Roche and Coach DeLay were teammates at CWU, where they were both on the 4x400 relay together) After high school, Coach Roche began his coaching career at Wenatchee High School for one season, in 2002 where he coached Pole Vault and High Jump.  A new job teaching in Kent brought him to Kentwood High School, where he coached from 2003 until 2015.  During his time there, he coached all jumping and sprinting events and served as head coach from 2006-2015.  The high point of this time was winning a state title with his girls team in 2011 and placing 8th and 12th in the nation in 2010 and 2011 at Nike Track Nationals.  A teaching job at Wenatchee High School brought him back to coaching the Panthers in the fall of 2015, where he has coached High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump and Sprints in his return.  Since 2018 Coach Roche has taken the role of Co-Head Coach at WHS along with Coach Bullis.  He is a level one USATF Certified Coach.  He is married to his wife of 22 years (Laura, a WHS Track Alumni) and has three daughters. He loves family activities, traveling and being outdoors.  

Assistant Coach Krissy Richerson (Throws)

Coach Richerson threw for Wenatchee High School and still holds the shot put record. After high school she went on to throw at Central Washington University where she competed in the shot, weight, disc, and hammer. She still holds Centrals shot record. Some highlights of her throwing career include; Indoor 2009 she earned all American honors becoming a National Champion and becoming Centrals first Division II National Champion, West Region Female Field Athlete of the Year 2009, Record holder in Shot Put and Weight throw, Presidents Award, Centrals Female Athlete of the Year 2009, NCW Sports Awards College Female Athlete of the Year 2008-09. Richerson began her coaching career at Central. After moving back to Wenatchee to be with family, she began coaching at Wenatchee High School in 2014.

Richerson has been married for 17 years to her husband Jeremy; they have 2 children a son and a daughter. She enjoys powerlifting, playing volleyball and softball, and just being outdoors. 

Assisstant Coach - Devin McCollow- (Throws)

Coach Mac has worked with middle school, high school, and college coaches and athletes since 2012. He moved to Wenatchee in 2020 were he continued working with coaches and athletes. In 2022 Coach Mac began coaching at WHS on the Wenatchee High Track and Field team as the assistant throws coach. 

Assistant Coach- Chelsea Putnam (Jumps)

Coach Putnam began her Track career as a Freshman at Eastmont High School. Quickly finding a passion for the sport, she tried as many events as she could until she found her place in Long Jump, Triple Jump, Sprints, and Relays. Lettering all four years of high school, and becoming a Team Captain, Putnam helped lead the Girls Track and Field team to become State Champions in 2008. Putnam continued competing in college at Pacific Lutheran University where she became a team captain again and continued to excel in Long Jump, Triple Jump, Sprints, and Relays. While at PLU, Putnam was awarded 2010 National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year. 

Putnam teaches Art at WHS and has two sons. She loves to spend time outdoors; hiking, camping, and fishing

Assistant Coach- Josh DeLay (Sprints)

Coach DeLay started his track career at Royal High School his Junior year where he left the school with three individual school records (100, 200 & 400) and two other relay records (4x100 & 4x400).  His senior year ended with three top-3 state finishes in the 100, 200 and 400.  He went on to run at CWU where he was a four-year letterman, team captain and MVP recipient.  (Coach DeLay and Coach Roche were teammates at CWU, where they were both on the 4x400 relay together) He left CWU on two individual top-10 lists and is still on the school records holding 4x100 meter relay team.  He had multiple top-3 finishes in teh GNAC championships throughout his four-year career.  This will be Coach DeLay's third year as an assistant coach with his first two years being a volunteer.  In his free time, coach loves spending time with his wife and two daughters, golfing, enjoying sports and working out. 

Assistant Coach Kurt Watson (Pole Vault)


Coach Watson joins the WHS staff for the 2024 T&F season. Coach Watson grew up in a small town in Minnesota. During his high school years, he lettered in Football, Basketball and Track. As a trackster, Coach Watson competed in Sprints, Jumps and Hurdles and ultimately won an All-State Award and was a state record holder in the Triple Jump. During his senior year, he competed in both High Jump and Triple Jump in the state meet.

During his college years, Coach Watson competed in the Decathlon where he was a 4-year letter winner, all conference, MVP and team captain his junior and seniors years.

Post-College, Coach Watson still competes in running, cycling and swimming as has participated in multiple Ironman Triathlons.

His Coaching experience includes, Track Coach from the Minnesota Academy for the Blind as well as  Football and Lacrosse Coach for the Jr. Redwolves in Duvall WA.

Coach Watson has been married to his wife, Jessica for 21 years and has 3 children.
