Unique
Message from Mr Snell
I think I can safely say that this has been one of the most busy terms of the year! It has been a real joy to see your children taking part in such a wide range of activities. In the last couple of weeks alone we have had the successful STEM fayre, Dance Umbrella event at The Forum, Dragon's Den success for our Owl Club who managed to secure £500 of funding for their allotment project, Pupil visit to Prague, where children from Year 5 made lifelong friends with children from a Czech school, fossil workshops and church visits, music concerts and sporting events galore! I am absolutely certain that no other school provides quite as many opportunities as this! Of course, the PTFA have also been working incredibly hard to prepare the latest round of fundraising events (see below). I hope you are able to join in to raise important money for the school. I love the car wash challenge - make sure those sponges are gravel free kids!
Clearly the success of our school is being noticed in the local community as we have been showing a number of potential new families around the school and who are hoping to join us very shortly. Remember, every day is open day at Welton so if you have a neighbour or friend who is considering a new school, please share our information with them and we will be delighted to show them around!
I am so proud of our school community. Thank you so much for your support and I wish you all a very happy, safe (and hopefully sunny!) Easter break.
Mr Snell :)

Wellbeing Wednesday - Ultimate Frisbee
The wet and windy weather didn't stop us having fun on Wednesday. The coaches from Progressive Sports adapted their plans and KS1 enjoyed bowling in the hall during the morning and fortunately (for a short stint!) the sun came out in the afternoon and we were able to get outside and try Ultimate Frisbee. As ever, our children love trying new sports and activities and threw themselves into the tasks with gusto and enthusiasm! Great job Team Welton!
Dance Umbrella
On Tuesday, our fabulous dancers showed great courage in competing in this year's Dance Umbrella. 14 different dance groups took to the stage performing so incredibly well polished routines. Our children followed suit and wowed everyone with their performance. A big thanks to Mrs Blackmore for teaching our children such a slick routine. We are so proud of all of you. You can watch the performance below.

After our fantastic musical week, last week, we are pleased to announce that the West of England Music and Arts (WEMA) will be offering instrument lessons at Welton.
Please take a look at their offer, below, if it may be of interest. We are also looking at opening an orchestra as part of our after school club offer so please watch this space.

It is a really exciting time, at Welton, and it is great to see our music really beginning to grow. :)
School Uniform
As we come into Term 5, it is a great opportunity to remind everyone about school uniform. It is great to see so many children come into school in their uniforms each day, looking smartly dressed and ready to learn. Please be reminded that, when it is PE days, children should be in the correct PE kit, and in either a school hoodie or jumper. On days when they are in normal uniform, children should be wearing black shoes. Many thanks for your support in ensuring our children come into school ready to learn.
As the weather gets nicer, we will be putting our any second hand uniform outside the office door, please feel free to come along on Wednesdays and use this service. :)

As always, thank you to everyone for your hard work in ensuring your children are in school each day and allowing us to work with your children everyday. It certainly makes our days brighter seeing them each day!

Bath Medical Museum Easter Fun
All families are invited to join in with a series of FREE Easter Holiday activities at Bath Medical Museum in The Hetling Pump Room just opposite Bath Thermae Spa and very close to the Cross Bath in Hetling Court, Bath 1AG 1SH. The museum will be open every day from Saturday 30th March 12pm to 4pm to Sunday April 7th
The activities will include an exhibition which deals with ‘Medicine in Bath during Norman Times’ and the life and work of the scholar Adelard of Bath and Bishop John of Tours.
There will be a chance to see Adelard’s ‘green cloak’ and to use copies of an astrolabe and abacus which he brought back to Bath from his 7 year scientific fact finding trip to the Middle East.
In addition there will be games Norman children played and a chance to discover what plants were grown in the monastery garden and which Bishop John trained monks to use in the infirmary he built and kept Bath people well.
There will also be a walking trail that will take you round the streets within the Roman Walls. Streets that Adelard would have walked when he was a child.
There will also be a chance to find out why Bath was burnt to the ground in 1088 and what Bishop John did to rebuild the city to make it one of the healthiest places in England.
