Crew

Michael Stebbings - Director

Michael is a vocal coach, performer, conductor, composer and music teacher working with theatre companies and schools across the Wellington region. He’s extremely proud to be taking to the stage in Silver Linings as a fully fledged Kiwi, having received his citizenship before the world changed (perfect timing some might say).

Since helping found Wellington Footlights, Michael has been involved in almost every show in some capacity - highlights have included MDing Legally Blonde (2016) and Chess (2018), directing My Fair Lady (2019), and playing Collins in Rent (2015) and Roger in A New Brain (2017). He’s always proud of what Footlights do, but especially so during this time of uncertainty and anxiety. He hopes you enjoy the show! Let's shoot crap!

Stephen Clothier - Musical Director

Stephen has worked with Wellington Footlights almost since their inception, and is credited in a number of their shows, including Pippin (2014), Legally Blonde (2016), Spamalot (2017), and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (2017) among many others.

This is his first outing in the role of musical director, and he’s both terrified and elated to be bringing the music of Guys and Dolls to life on stage alongside the talented and gorgeous cast. By day he works for Wellington City Libraries in a role in which he teaches robots how to dance and children how to read, and sometimes the other way around.

Mel Heaphy - Choreographer

Abigail Helsby - Producer

Abi is a prolific con-artist, smuggler, and all around scoundrel.

She made her first million by the age of 17 with her fiendish plan of importing grizzly bears for use as domestic cleaners and creating a very specific insurance company surrounding bear attacks.

Some of her favourite things include: money, perfidy, cheating the elderly out of their pension, and home cooking.

Alex Chippy Compton - Production Manager & Rehearsal Stage Manager

Following an early foray into performing on stage, Chippy soon discovered her love of coloured spreadsheets and email folders and thus, a production manager was born!

Chippy has previously held a range of roles from stage hand to director, so it was only natural that she eagerly sought out the thrill of the theatre once more, when she moved from London to Wellington in early 2020. After COVID threw a spanner in her well laid plans last year, she has jumped into Guys & Dolls with her usual panache. She has loved watching the show come together and hopes you enjoy watching it as much as everyone has preparing it.

Tessa Alderton - Performance Stage Manager

Tessa Alderton is so happy to be back Stage Managing another Wellington Footlights show! She has stage managed a few Footlights shows in the past, RENT (2015), Legally Blonde (2016), and Spamalot (2017) just to name a few.

Tessa’s last Footlights endeavour was Silver Linings at the end of 2020 benefitting the Mary Potter Hospice, where she was Assistant Stage Manager and Props.

Tessa is looking forward to working with her Footlights Fam again, and welcoming the newbies in with open arms and a warm smile!

Aimée Sullivan - Poster Design & Publicity Manager

Aimée has been sneaking her way into Footlights since she first moved to Te Whanganui a Tara two years ago, and couldn't be more pleased to be helping out with this brilliant show on publicity and social media.
