Kara Miles Sullivan (She, Her, Hers) is in her third year of teaching and directing for Wellesley High School. Prior, she had a 18-year career as a Middle School Drama Teacher/ Director, 15 of those were with Wellesley Middle School. Kara received a B.F. A. in Acting, with a Dance Concentration, from the State University of New York College at Fredonia and a Masters in Theatre Education from Emerson College in Boston. Miles-Sullivan was one of the early presidents of the METG Middle School Council and aims to become more actively involved in the High School component of METG and other groups that support Theatre in our schools. In addition, she has directed for several years with the Performing Arts Company in Framingham and taught classes at Wellesley Theatre Project and Tenacre Camp. As an avid believer in Theatre for Self Confidence and Growth, Miles Sullivan works consistently towards staying current and active with curriculum and techniques. She is a proud mother of two beautiful children, aged 11 and 13.
This is Olivia’s 3rd production with WHS as the Departments Technical Director/ Production Manager/ Technical Theatre teacher! Olivia is a proud member of Actors Equity Association and excited to be a new addition to Wellesley community. For the past 4 years, Olivia was the Production Stage Manager for Shadowland Stages in upstate NY. Prior, she worked on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and worked for New World Stages in NYC for 6 years. Her Broadway credits include: AMAZING GRACE (Assistant General Manager) and BROADWAY CARES EQUITY FIGHTS AIDS 2015 & 2016 GYPSY AWARDS & EASTER BONNET (Assistant Stage Manager). Off-Broadway credits include: CHURCHILL, HOW 2 B A NEW YORKER, NEWSICAL THE MUSICAL, RENT and many more. Regionally credits include: Shadowland Stages, Regal Music Theatre, Seven Angels Theatre, Yale Opera, and Story Horse Theatre. Steven Scott has been teaching instrumental music, music technology and songwriting at Wellesley High School for the past twenty-three years. Ensembles under Mr. Scott's direction have received state and national recognition—performing at venues including Boston Symphony Hall, Mechanics Hall in Worcester, the Boston Hatch Shell, Fenway Park, Berklee Performance Center, Manhattan School of Music, and at Lincoln Center with master classes from Wynton Marsalis. Ensemble accolades include consistent gold medal ratings at MICCA Concert Band Festivals and MAJE Jazz Festivals, being named a National Finalist for the Charles Mingus High School Competition, and four times a National Finalist in the Essentially Ellington Competition. Mr. Scott has also served as a Teaching Associate at Boston University teaching music technology and instrumental repertoire. He and the WHS Wind Ensemble have been featured performers at the Massachusetts Music Educators Association All-State Conference where Mr. Scott has also been a music technology presenter in the past. Mr. Scott has had master conducting classes with Herb Pomeroy and Peter Loel Boonshaft. He earned a B.S. in Music Education from The College of St. Rose in Albany, N.Y. where he was named the Theodore Presser Scholar, and a M.A. in Music Education from the Eastman School of Music where he studied with composers Sidney Hodkinson and Fred Sturm. He is currently completing a second masters degree in Music Production at Berklee College of Music.
