For those passionate about Musical Theatre, your search ends here. The Musical Theatre Workshop is an engaging, hands-on course that explores performance techniques and the history of American Musical Theatre. Students will learn about the three core elements of musical theatre: singing, dancing, and acting. They will develop critical collaborative skills, understand musical theatre terminology and history, and refine performance techniques unique to the genre. The course's historical section will examine the work of early Broadway composers and Vaudeville performers. Acting the Song techniques will be taught through block period review sessions and will culminate in a Musical Theatre revue or small musical production.
Opportunities to participate in co-curricular projects will be extended to participants in this course.

Students will develop and refine artistic techniques and work for the presentation of student-directed One Act Plays

Students will interpret intent and meaning in artistic work by reading plays presented at WHS and analyzing the text and then attending the performances.

Students will relate artistic ideas and works to societal, cultural, and historical contexts to deepen understanding through the study of Social Justice and Documentary Theatre
