For the past century, photojournalists have captured the emotions of our times. If you love visual story telling, then consider exploring what the Yearbook course has to offer. To develop visual narratives , you must be able work with a variety of media outlets (i.e. Instagram, FB, Twitter, Snapchat, Blurb). You must be able to meet fixed deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment. The photos you select must be timely, and depict an accurate representation of the events being covered. In Yearbook, students will learn about teamwork, responsibility, brainstorming, content management, concept development, reporting/writing, copy editing, photography, typography/graphic design, finance, advertising and product distribution. Students will plan the Yearbook’s theme, edit copy, design and execute layout, plan printing and distribution deadlines, and maintain a self-sufficient business model.
