Wellesley High School’s Challenge Success Transition Team has been working to address several areas of our schedule that could use improvements to better support our students’ transition throughout the school year. Our school's Challenge Success survey clearly showed that our ninth grade students feel a lack of connection with adults in the building, and we would like to give them several opportunities during the school year to make meaningful relationships with staff and students, in addition to the first week of school. To this end, we are planning the October half-day (Step Up Day) for ninth graders to be focused on community building, and it will run from 8:30-11:30 with the help of ninth-grade advisors. Students are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and leave their backpacks at home.
