Each 5H student is expected to sign up for 3 book talks over the year. Please sign up for one book talk in each section of this calendar. You need to put your name, your book's title, and the author. You may not do a book talk about a book that someone else has already signed up to do. Book Talks are on Fridays unless noted.
See book talk information to find out how to prepare for your book talk. This information is also in your Independent Reading Log.

• Write notes/ a script on index cards, paper, or a Google Doc.
• Practice your book talk.
• Bring the book and your notes/ script to school.
3. Present:
• Show the book.
• Start with a good lead.
• Tell the author, title and genre.
• Explain why you chose to share the book.
• Tell about the book but don’t give away too much.
• Introduce your excerpt and read it with expression.
• End with a strong closing sentence.
4. Remember:
• Look at everyone.
• Speak loudly and clearly.
• Show your enthusiasm.
• Keep your talk short!
