Science and Literacy Review
- Draw and label a scientific picture of a tree, indoor or outdoor plant, flowers, a bug etc.
- Create shadows. Draw and answer these questions: How did you create the shadow? What light source did you use? What surface did you use? How are shadows created? Was your shadow dark, medium bright or bright? Was the light source blocked?
- Answer these questions: Was is light outside when you woke up? Was is light outside when you ate breakfast? Was is light outside when you ate dinner? Was is light outside when you went to bed?
Math Review
- Draw a number line to 120.
- Draw a 120s chart.
- Create some addition or subtraction equations. Solve them. Remember to show your work! (4+6= ___, 3+__=10, 12-4=___, 8-__=4) Challenge yourself!
- Create a number story and solve it. Show your thinking! (ex. Mona collected 8 shells on the beach. Simon gave her some more. Now she has 11 shells. How many shells did Simon give to Mona? Can you solve this one?
- Find shapes around your home. Name them. Draw them. Label them.
- Use cubes, legos (they have to be the same size), or a ruler to measure objects around your home. Compare objects. How much longer is the tissue box than the remote control? How much shorter is the spoon than the cable box?
- Create “keeper” objects. To “keep” a toy it has to be as long as a monopoly game. Which toys can you keep? Which are not keepers? (Don’t get rid of any, though! :)
- Create a survey question. Ask your family members and create a survey. (ex. Do you like ice cream or brownies better?)
