The Digital Accessibility Checklist is a handy reference.
Model digital accessibility in your communications to your staff and families. Call it out, such as "You'll notice I'm no longer sending PDF attachments since they are not accessible to all families." I'm now using more descriptive link text for clarity, instead of "click here" links.
Back to School letters: Paste the letter text directly into ParentSquare (PSQ), or if posting to your website copy/paste the letter text directly into the website.
Event Flyers: If you are having an event for new families this summer, if you create a colorful event graphic with text inside, be sure to add Alt Text and type out all the event information below the graphic so it is accessible.
Videos: If you create a welcome back to school video, use YouTube or Canva to add captions.
