Choose a small moment, connected to something important about you (an activity you love, family, friends, etc.)

Put the date and a title at the top of the next double page spread. 

Make a story mountain on the left-hand page. Include the external and internal story.

Write your story on the right-hand page. Use strong description, inner thoughts and action so the reader has a mental movie in their mind. Fill the page (or more)!

3. Writing Journal Entry - due Thursday, October 15

Review: write a review of a restaurant, TV show, movie, book, etc. that gives your opinion and tells the good and the bad with descriptive details. You can include a rating. (Plan with a tree map or boxes and bullets.)

•Put the date and title (Review of _____________) at the top of the next 2-page spread. 

•On the left side, make a tree map or boxes and bullets to plan at least 3 reasons for your opinion. It can be all positives, all negatives, or a mix.

•On the right side, write your review. Fill the page (or more)! Use sentence starters like, "One reason...," In my opinion...," etc.

•Use the Expectations and Goals checklist to make sure you are doing what's expected in your journal entry. You are expected to use capitals and punctuation consistently!!!

Write from a Word: choose a noun and start writing about anything that comes to mind when you think of this word. Let your mind wander and keep writing. Your thinking and writing should wander from topic to topic. 

Put the date and title (Writing from a Word: _____________) at the top of the next new page. 

Fill the page (or more)! Use sentence starters like, "This reminds me of..." or "This makes me think about..." if you get stuck.
