Homework

What does homework look like in 3rd Grade?

• assigned Monday-Thursday

• 15-25 minutes

  • 15 minutes of reading every night -- record on homework log

  • sometimes math practice (could be practicing math facts or part of a math worksheet)

  • sometimes spelling practice (practice current Fundations words in spelling practice notebook)

Homework Policy:

All third grade students are required to complete homework each night (Monday-Thursday). Students will typically be assigned 1-2 assignments each night consisting of literacy and math. It is expected that students read 15 minutes each night as part of their reading log. I will collect the homework log and worksheets on Fridays. 

Homework should be completed by the student independently as much as possible. If an assignment is too confusing to complete at home, students should come in with all attempted work and see me for assistance the next day.
