Have them find things made of wood, metal, green things, brown things, heavy things, things that grow, etc...Once they find items that match the criteria, have them describe the items (color, size, shape, category, function, parts, texture, taste, made of...)
Images
Google image pictures or find pictures in magazines and have kids describe what is happening in the picture. Also ask them what do they think happened next (predicting)
Reading
When reading them a book, stop along the way to ask what has happened so far, ask why they think a character behaved a certain way, what they predict will happen next.
