10/2025 Our lab had three submissions accepted for the SRA Biennial Meeting in Toronto!
Emily Shang '27, Anna Huang '25, and Kexin Zhao '24 are co-authors on a symposium paper from the CAFE Project: " Socialization of Race-Status Beliefs in Chinese American Parents and Adolescents."
Stephen Chen will be chairing a symposium with Stacey Doan (Claremont McKenna), Charissa Cheah (UMBC) and Pamela King (Fuller). "Synthesizing the Spiritual and the Material: Religion, Spirituality, and Well-Being in Racial-Ethnic Minority Adolescents and Emerging Adults"
Tingjen Hsieh '25 will be presenting a poster from the CAFE Project on coping responses in Chinese American adolescents. Congratulations, Tingjen!
9/2025 "Effortful control is associated with ethnic minority children’s pro-wealth biases and explanations across social domains" has been published in Developmental Psychology, with Michelle Wang '17 as first author. This paper grew out of Michelle's senior honors thesis -- congratulations, Michelle!
7/2025 Michelle Wang '17 was back on campus as one of our Summer Science Program's invited speakers.
6/2024 "Parental expressions of love in Chinese American immigrant families: Implications for children’s attachment security” has been published in Developmental Science. This paper was part of Aya Williams's doctoral dissertation. Congratulations, Aya!
