Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 11:30-12:45 (for seven weeks during the second fall '20 term)
This is a remote class. All meetings will take place on Zoom. Some classes will be lecture-based and some will involve group work and discussion.
Tuesdays and Fridays during class, Thursdays 3-4 pm, and by appointment.
The Google group for this class is MATH-302-T2-01-REMOTE-FA20. You should check that you have been automatically added to this group. If you have not, please add yourself. The group will contain important information. You can also ask questions, have conversations, or arrange study groups through the group. I will be checking the messages posted to it regularly.
The required textbook for this class is
Understanding Analysis, by S. Abbott
Any edition of this book is fine (even though the link will take you to the latest edition). We will cover most of chapters 1-7.
Other good books on the subject are
Principles of Mathematical Analysis, by W. Rudin
Mathematical Analysis, by T. Apostol
Book of Proof, by R. Hammack (free online, excellent resource on proof-writing)
Some additional reading materials supplementing the lectures can be found on the additional materials page.
