SFS Clearance
Financial clearance refers to a series of required steps all students must take in order for the Wellesley Registrar to process their enrollment in their study abroad course. These steps exist to ensure all students gain a thorough understanding of changes to aid and billing that occur for study away students.
All students must complete financial clearance, even those who do not receive financial aid at Wellesley, as the process also reviews billing and payment information. Your clearance requirements will be due based on your study away terms. The deadlines are as follows:
Fall and Academic Year Travelers - Due April 1st
Spring Travelers - Due November 1st
SFS Clearance Steps:
Read the Affording Study Abroad section of the OIS website in full.
Aid recipients must attend a required presentation detailing how aid and billing will change for study away students. Non-aided students can optionally attend this presentation. Presentation dates and registration information will be sent via email to all students. Attendance will be taken. Students who have class, work, health, or athletic conflicts should communicate with SFS for an alternative option.
Attest to step 1 and 2 by completing the Study Away Aid Attestation Form.
Complete the Financial Responsibility Agreement for your study away semester in Workday.
Clear any prior balances on your account. If you have concerns regarding a prior balance, please reach out to SFS directly.
Failure to complete clearance requirements by their deadline will restrict your enrollment from study abroad, preventing you from traveling. Questions? Reach out to SFS (sfs@wellesley.edu).
