Isabella will be starting a position as a Clinical Research Coordinator at the University of California, San Francisco.
Hi all! My name is Bella Peña, and I am a part of the class of 2025. At Wellesley, I majored in Spanish with a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies on the pre-med track. I was part of the Tetel Lab for 3 years and worked extensively on the Wellesley-Mayo Gut and Vaginal Microbiome Study. From recruitment, sample collection, sample processing, and data analysis, I have seen much of what human studies research can look like! Outside of the lab, I spent most of my time in Claflin Hall as the House President and loved being able to combine my role in the lab with my role in Residential Life during the recruitment process.
Following my time at Wellesley, I will be starting a position as a Clinical Research Coordinator at the University of California, San Francisco. Here I will be working closely with Dr. Gregory Marcus on various research studies focused on the impact of substance intake, such as marijuana and alcohol, on atrial fibrillation (AFib) as well as investigating factors that contribute to best ablation results for AFib.
