Welcome Back!
Dear Mountain View Families,
I am so excited to write this letter of introduction to you as the new Assistant Principal of Mountain View Elementary School. I am honored to have the opportunity to help lead a school with such amazing students, an extremely dedicated staff, and a supportive school community. My official start date was on July 17th. I have enjoyed exploring the school and getting to know the wonderful staff members at Mountain View!
This is my 20th year in education. I have worked with students from preschool to 5th grade in a variety of roles. I have been a kindergarten, first, and 3rd grade classroom teacher. I was an interventionist K-5 in reading and math, as well as an instructional coach. I am thrilled to bring my skills as an educator and leader to Mountain View Elementary School and to work with you as a partner in education.
I strongly believe that the relationships between teachers, administrators and families are vital to the success of our students and school. I look forward to working with you all.

Back to School Ice Cream Social
Join us at Mountain View for a back to school ice cream social on Tuesday August 15th from 3:30 to 4:30. Come see your classroom, meet your teacher and drop off your school supplies for the year! Teachers will be sharing classroom specific information as we will not be holding a Back to School Night this year.
First Day of School, Wednesday August 16th
We will welcome back students for the 23/24 school year on Wednesday, August 16th.
Teacher Emails!
Families will be receiving an introductory email on Friday, August 11th from their child's teacher. We will not be posting class lists on the doors.
Dress Code Reminder

As the weather is getting warmer, we want to remind everyone of our dress code expectations at Mountain View. See below:
We believe that students are successful when they feel comfortable and empowered. The following are dress code expectations:
Apparel that advertises alcohol, smoking, drugs, harmful substances / items, or inappropriate language may not be worn to school
Apparel that disrupts the education of students may not be worn to school
Straps on tank tops and dresses should be at least 2” wide
No bare midriffs or visible undergarments
Shorts & skirts need to be past fingertip length when arms are at sides
Hats/caps/bandanas are not to be worn indoors (unless as a reward from the classroom teacher/administration)
Health Room Donations Needed
Our health room at Mountain View is in need of the following donations:
Size 6-12 sweatpants. These can be used or new.
Socks
Plastic grocery bags
All help would be greatly appreciated!

How to Volunteer
To ensure the safety of our staff and students, we ask that all volunteers complete an application and background check that includes a search of the national criminal database, sex offender list, and terrorist watchlist. Once an account has been created and the application has been approved, you will be able to login and review volunteer opportunities at your selected schools. Volunteers must register and be approved prior to engaging in any volunteer activity. Once you are approved, an email will be sent to you notifying you of the approval and your user account information.
