District Awarded Local Food Program Grant

We’re excited to announce we’ve been selected as a recipient of the Local Food Program Grant, a program that connects Colorado food producers with local school districts. We look forward to providing more fresh and wholesome, high quality products for our students this year. Our partners will help us serve up more delicious and tasty local fresh fruits, lettuce, and beans this year. It’s a win-win-win for students, the economy, and our local community. LEARN MORE

MV/TZ Accountability Committee

We would like to invite you to our Mountain View/Tozer combined School Accountability Committee Meeting on Tuesday, September 26th at Mountain View Elementary School in the library. We will be discussing our goals for the year, assessment data, and alignment between the two schools.

Students in Mrs. Kennedy's class have been studying forces of motion. As their final project they created a "ball run" to prove their understanding of unbalanced forces, friction, and gravity. The "ball run" they created had to be made using only certain supplies. The goal is to come up with a contraption to see which "ball run" took the longest for the ping pong ball to travel through.

Students in Mrs. Kennedy's class worked in teams to complete math questions to study for their first unit math test.

Sign Language Day in Community Outreach with Mrs. Bragg

Sign your child up for the MV Chess Club!

Does your child like to think and solve problems? Do they like to strategize and play games? If the answer is yes, then the MV Chess Club might be just right for them! Note: Your child doesn’t need to know how to play chess to participate.

We have room for 26 students to join Mr. Malmberg from 2:45-3:33 after school on 10/5, 10/19, 10/26, 11/9 and 11/16.

If your child is interested, fill out this form by 9/28. More information will follow.

If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Malmberg (samuel.malmberg@weldre4.org). FYI, Mr. Malmberg is a 3rd grade teacher at Mountain View. MV Chess Club will be in his classroom (Room 102).

King Soopers Rewards for MV

King Soopers Community Rewards Program

Give back to our school just by shopping for groceries and gas! Mountain View Elementary has partnered with King Soopers Community Rewards Program to help raise money for our school. King Soopers has recently restructured their program and it is easier than ever to participate!

Don’t forget - your friends and family can join in on this program too!

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS

1. Register for a King Soopers Rewards Card and Create an Online Account

If you haven’t already, register for a King Soopers or City Market rewards card. Cards are available at the customer service desk at any King Soopers or City Market store. Once you have a rewards card, can create an online account with your name, some basic information, and a valid email address.

Once you have a registered King Soopers or City Market rewards card account, it’s easy to link your account to Mountain View Elementary.

2. Link your King Soopers Account to Mountain View Elementary

Log into your King Soopers or City Market account. Under “My Account” go to “Community Rewards”. Then, search for Mountain View Elementary by name or by our our school code “RV655”. Once you select Mountain View Elementary, click “Enroll”.

Remember, proceeds can’t be donated to Mountain View Elementary unless you link your rewards card to our school. Each time you swipe your rewards card, or use the phone number that is associated with your rewards card, our school earns money!

Thank you for supporting our school!

How to Volunteer

To ensure the safety of our staff and students, we ask that all volunteers complete an application and background check that includes a search of the national criminal database, sex offender list, and terrorist watchlist. Once an account has been created and the application has been approved, you will be able to login and review volunteer opportunities at your selected schools. Volunteers must register and be approved prior to engaging in any volunteer activity. Once you are approved, an email will be sent to you notifying you of the approval and your user account information.
