Community Outreach Project:  Donations Needed starting next week until Christmas break!!

Mrs. Bragg's Community Outreach class will be making Christmas cards and ornaments for the residents at the Pelican Pointe Health and Rehabilitation Center next door to Mountain View.  We would love it if our parents would partner alongside this activity and help by donating any Christmas or holiday themed supplies.  Items needed include: blank ornaments, red or green cardstock paper, stickers, or anything else that would help the students to make and decorate these projects!

Notes from the Gym.....

Hello Mountain View families!

Now that the snow has come and wants to stay, PE has returned to the gym full-time. This is a great opportunity for students to learn and practice Pickleball! Pickleball is one of the mainstay units at Mountain View because there are areas in our community to participate in this great activity. Main park has multiple pickleball courts which means all you need to play is a couple of paddles and a ball! Simple pickleball paddles are quite inexpensive if your student shows interest in playing pickleball outside of PE. These courts are reserved on most Wednesdays and Fridays in April and May, but there should be plenty of time and space to play. Students will be learning the basic skills of pickleball in PE, enough to get them active with this fast growing sport. I hope your student enjoys the unit and picks up some new skills!

Best,

Evan McDermott, Physical Education Teacher

All elementary school families will receive a message at the end of November notifying them of their new boundary school. If families desire to attend a school that is not their assigned boundary school, a Choice Enrollment application will be needed, including those entering second grade at Tozer Primary School and fifth grade at all schools.

If your student has been previously accepted to a school via Choice Enrollment, their acceptance will be honored through the remainder of their year(s) at that level (i.e., elementary, middle, or high), and you do not need to re-apply. Learn More

King Soopers Community Rewards Program

Give back to our school just by shopping for groceries and gas! Mountain View Elementary has partnered with King Soopers Community Rewards Program to help raise money for our school. King Soopers has recently restructured their program and it is easier than ever to participate!

Don’t forget - your friends and family can join in on this program too!

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS

1. Register for a King Soopers Rewards Card and Create an Online Account

If you haven’t already, register for a King Soopers or City Market rewards card. Cards are available at the customer service desk at any King Soopers or City Market store. Once you have a rewards card, can create an online account with your name, some basic information, and a valid email address.

Once you have a registered King Soopers or City Market rewards card account, it’s easy to link your account to Mountain View Elementary.

2. Link your King Soopers Account to Mountain View Elementary

Log into your King Soopers or City Market account. Under “My Account” go to “Community Rewards”. Then, search for Mountain View Elementary by name or by our our school code “RV655”. Once you select Mountain View Elementary, click “Enroll”.

Remember, proceeds can’t be donated to Mountain View Elementary unless you link your rewards card to our school. Each time you swipe your rewards card, or use the phone number that is associated with your rewards card, our school earns money!

Thank you for supporting our school!

How to Volunteer

To ensure the safety of our staff and students, we ask that all volunteers complete an application and background check that includes a search of the national criminal database, sex offender list, and terrorist watchlist. Once an account has been created and the application has been approved, you will be able to login and review volunteer opportunities at your selected schools. Volunteers must register and be approved prior to engaging in any volunteer activity. Once you are approved, an email will be sent to you notifying you of the approval and your user account information.
