From Small Town to Even Smaller

“I heard about this job opportunity from teachersteach.com."

Before he came to Weldon Valley, Mr. Wagner's life consisted of almost always being with his family, farming full time. He has three siblings, two brothers and one sister. He hopes to have a little family of his own some day.

Wagner's most proud accomplishment was when he achieved District Office of Knights of Columbus. He admits to being excited to finally getting back into teaching and coaching before his arrival at Weldona. Teaching became his calling when his farming life ran into some financial problems and the economy was slowing down out in South Heart, North Dakota.

Wagner was just what Weldon Valley High School was looking for, and he has been a great teacher and coach to our students here.

Mr. Bauman had to "get out of Fort Morgan [High School] because of health reasons." Weldon Valley School is more similar to what he grew up in, and he wanted to return to that kind of school after spending 5 years at a much larger school as Principal.

Before moving his family to Colorado in 2000, Mr. Bauman taught in both Dakotas. In Colorado, he has worked as Assistant Principal and Principal for many years, including the 5 years he spent as Fort Morgan High School's Principal.

NEW.

A whole lot of new.

With the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year, Weldon Valley students and staff experienced many new things. Mr. Bauman, the new principal, was impressed with the student body's attentiveness during the opening day assembly. New 7th graders were surprised at how fast the school day went, having to move from one class to another every class period.

The school also has two students who are not just new to the school but to the country, too. Linda and Good are from Italy and Thailand, respectively, and will be attending the high school this year.

With a goal of becoming one of the best schools in the state, let's hope the feeling of new propels us to great achievements.
