Standing Up Against Bullying

There are many warning signs that may indicate that someone is affected by bullying—either being bullied or bullying others.

Elementary school children may feel shame or anxiety, or have trouble concentrating.

Every individual is different and incidents that traumatize one person may not affect another.

Some children who experience trauma and bullying may have strong feelings of distress, while other children may appear desensitized.

Kids who are bullied can experience negative physical, social, emotional, academic, and mental health issues.

Depression and anxiety, increased feelings of sadness and loneliness, changes in sleep and eating patterns, and loss of interest in activities they used to enjoy. These issues may persist into adulthood.

Decreased academic achievement GPA and standardized test scores and school participation. They are more likely to miss, skip, or drop out of school.

CYBERBULLYING

Posting comments or rumors about someone online that are mean, hurtful, or embarrassing.

Doxing, an abbreviated form of the word documents, is a form of online harassment used to exact revenge and to threaten and destroy the privacy of individuals by making their personal information public, including addresses, social security, credit card and phone numbers, links to social media accounts, and other private data.

Whether they are played on a computer, game console, handheld system, smartphone, or tablet allow users to play with people they know in person and others they meet online. In fact, 65% of video game players of all ages say they play with others.

Dealing with peer pressure

By:matthew heifner

Peer pressure is when someone tries to make another person do something by pressuring them and making it seem like they will be cool if they do whatever is being asked for them to do. By giving false beliefs it pressures them to do something they don't want to do.

Dealing with peer pressure can be used to avoid certain things, usually a certain task. Dealing with peer pressure can result in a better outcome than if you went and followed the peer pressure. You can deal with peer pressure by stopping and thinking if you really wanna do this how will the outcome be affected. Status and being cool aren’t everything someone needs so dont shoot for them and try branching out and staying with people who don't try to make you do something by peer pressuring you into it it will only hurt you.

Peer pressure first came around as a joke but then was used as a form of pressure. It is now used to pressure someone into doing something that gives a better chance for the thing requested to be done. Dealing with peer pressure can affect the outcome of the result. And can hurt others if used in the wrong way.
