Title I Annual Meeting
Schools convene an annual meeting to inform parents of their school's participation in Title I, Part A programs, to explain the Title I, Part A requirements, how the Title I students will be assessed, how the parents will be kept informed, and the right of parents to be involved in those programs. All parents and families are encouraged to attend.
Parental Involvement
The term “parental involvement” means the participation of parents in regular, two-way, meaningful communication involving student academic learning and other school activities, including ensuring –
That parents play an integral role in assisting their child’s learning;
That parents are encouraged to be actively involved in their child’s education at school;
That parents are full partners in their child’s education and are included, as appropriate, in decision-making and on advisory committees to assist in the education of their child; and
The carrying out of other activities, such as those described in section 1118 of the ESEA. [Section 9101(32), ESEA.]

We value our families and parents and want them to become involved in our Title I schools in the following ways: attend school meetings, get involved in PTO/PTA events, support school-based surveys, and review pertinent Title I plans (school-wide, school-parent compacts, and parental involvement policies).
Title I Schoolwide Plans
A school wide program is a comprehensive reform strategy designed to upgrade the entire educational program in a Title I school; its primary goal is to ensure that all students, particularly those who are low-achieving, demonstrate proficient and advanced levels of achievement on state academic achievement standards. This school wide reform strategy requires that a school do the following:
Create a planning committee;
Conduct a comprehensive needs assessment;
Identify and commit to specific goals and strategies that address those needs;
Create a comprehensive plan; and
Conduct an annual review of the effectiveness of the school wide program and revise the plan as necessary.
Adopting this strategy should result in an ongoing, comprehensive plan for school improvement that is owned by the entire school community and tailored to its unique needs.
Whereas Title I targeted assistance programs only provide educational services to identified individual students, school wide programs allow staff in schools with high concentrations of students from low-income families to redesign their entire educational program to serve all students. The emphasis in school wide program schools is on serving all students, improving all structures that support student learning, and combining all resources, as allowed, to achieve a common goal.
Below please find the school wide plans for each of our schools.
Schoolwide Plans are completed and uploaded to the NJDOE Homeroom - Schoolwide Plan Management System (SWPMS)
