Ms. Dermody Social Studies Teacher
Welcome to fifth grade!
I am looking forward to teaching every fifth grader Social Studies. I have worked in Weehawken since 2000. I taught Math at Weehawken High School my first year and then spent 16 years teaching second grade at Daniel Webster School. I hold a BA in History from Franklin and Marshall College and an MA in School Administration from St. Peter's University. Prior to teaching, I was a manager for the Walt Disney Company in Orlando, Florida. I can't wait to get to know your children and have a fun, safe, and successful year!
Best way to reach the teacher: school office 201-422-6140 and cdermody@weehawken.k12.nj.us

Standard Based Report Card Info:
As a reminder this year TRS has transitioned to a Standards Based Report Card (SBRC), which uses less traditional grading and instead measures progress and growth of conceptual understanding and application over time. There is more information about the new grading and report card system on the TRS website here, including questions, answers, and the rubrics being used by each content area and grade level.
Homework will be given weekly. The students will have ample time to know exactly what they need to complete for homework and the due date. Please check my website weekly to make sure you are on track!
