About Me

Welcome to History!

I think it's important that you know a little bit about my background. My father was in the U.S. Army. I attended primary school in West Germany, Oklahoma, and Carolina's. I believe that this fostered my passion for traveling which led to me living in England, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Germany, and of course the U.S.!

Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a marketing executive for ten years at some of the major record labels in NYC and Chicago. Afterward, I started my own marketing consultancy. In 2010, I decided to become a teacher while living in Switzerland. I worked as a substitute and daily volunteer in the art department at Zurich International School.

The experience was wonderful and it led me on my path to becoming a teacher.

I have my M.A. from Pace University in American History and my B.A. from the University of South Carolina in International Studies. I obtained my teacher certification from Seton Hall's College of Education and Human Services Graduate School. I am certified to teach elementary school, k-6 and social studies, k-12. I sit on the New Jersey Amistad Commission and I'm the marketing chair. The NJ Amistad mandate is simple, African American history has to be infused into the teaching of U.S. history.

A lot of the class activities will be posted on Twitter. My handle is @ane_eberhard.

Thank you and let's have a great year!
