What we are doing in...
I will update this section every time your child starts a new unit (or project) in their library class. Because my classes only meet once a week, I do not assign any official homework. However, if a student fails to finish certain work during class time, they may be asked to finish it at home.
Third Grade
Autumn Storybook STEAM Challenge Unit
Students will take part in a Storybook STEAM Challenge. We will first read Mr. Peabody's Apples and then take part in a challenge in which they learn about buoyancy, balance, and drift.
Fourth Grade
STEAM Playground Project
Students will design their dream playground by sketching rough "blueprints". They will then break off into groups and work on creating small models of their playgrounds using recyclable materials.
Fifth Grade
Simile Self-Portrait
Students will compose their own self portraits using similes. They will then create a digital artistic representation of it using Google Drawings.
Sixth Grade
Hunger Games Unit
Students will be actively listening and discussing the novel The Hunger Games. Upon completion, they will take part in a creative cumulative project based off of the plot and characters.
If a student ever needs extra help or time for work in library class, they can come for Special Help. Please let Mrs. Sendul know at least a couple days before, either by email (parent/guardian) or during class (student), and she will meet with the student(s) in the mornings.
