Mrs. Sendul

During my second year working in Weehawken, I was honored to receive the award for Governor's Educational Services Professional of the Year. And now, I look forward to taking on my fourth year in a district that is filled with wonderful staff and students, and continuing to strive for the best! I infuse technology in most, if not all, of my "library lessons." I hope all of my students are as thrilled as I am in taking on this school year!

My background in education is a bit varied:

  • I graduated from Montclair State University with a degree in English and a certification in teaching.
  • After graduation, I landed back-to-back maternity leave positions teaching high school English in Newark, and then Clifton.
  • While teaching, I attended (and graduated) from Rutgers University with a master's degree in Library and Informational Sciences, with School Library Media Specialist certification.
  • For three years, after graduating from Rutgers, I worked as a high school library media specialist.

During the summer of 2016, Weehawken School District allowed teachers to take a "summer academy course" through which we could become Google Certified Educators. I took the course and exam, and became certified! And then, in the summer of 2018, I was able to take part in the same course but for level two certification, and passed! I look forward to continuing to incorporate Google Apps for Education (GAFE) into my lessons in the library.
